Contrary to what you might expect, Great Snoring is smaller than its sister Little Snoring. Our village has pretty houses of flint and brick along each side of the narrow main street. The origin of the names is Saxon; in the Domesday Book it is recorded as Snarringes, the home of the family and descendants of someone named Snear. |
